My Path & Passion

IMG_7540.JPG

I am an explorer, seeker, and lifelong student, continuously deepening my understanding of yoga, creativity, and well-being.

My passion lies in sharing these transformative practices with others

whether adults, families, toddlers, children, teens, or children with special and additional needs.

My priority is to encourage self-appreciation, nurture creativity, and inspire playfulness, helping my students find their own inner voice through yoga.

A Journey Rooted in Exploration & Creativity

My path has been anything but linear. I began my journey as a classical ballet dancer, later becoming a sports instructor and packaging designer before finding my true calling in yoga. Since 2003, I have been teaching and sharing yoga, specializing in working with families, toddlers, children, teens, and children with special and additional needs.

I hold a Yoga Therapy Diploma from The Minded Institute, and I am a BWY-accredited teacher, Senior Yoga Teacher Trainer, and E-RYT, YACEP with Yoga Alliance US, having completed my teacher training with Yoga Campus in 2005. With over 1,400 hours of specialist training (not including my 580 hours of yoga therapy studies, currently on the path to completing my C-IAYT 820-hour certification), my focus today is on therapeutic yoga, meditation, restorative yoga, yoga for anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and mindful self-compassion practices. In addition, I have completed Yoga for Menopause training with BWY, broadening my knowledge of hormonal balance, well-being, and movement practices for women in transition.

Since 2003, I have shared yoga in schools, community centres, and studios across London, creating inclusive and nurturing spaces for children and adults alike. I also hold a degree in Design and Design Education with honour from HIT (Holon Institute of Technology), an area of study that continues to shape my creative approach to yoga.

Merging Yoga & Creativity for Mental Well-Being

For more than two decades, I have been deeply immersed in exploring the intersection of yoga and creativity, particularly how it supports mental health and well-being. This inquiry led me to develop a unique approach to integrating yoga and creativity, supporting children, adults, and families in self-expression and emotional well-being.

Between 2008 and 2010, I was fortunate to collaborate with inspiring colleagues in the creation of the Children's Centre at The Life Centre in Notting Hill, where I introduced children’s yoga, carer-and-toddler yoga, and family yoga workshops that became widely recognized and well-attended in both Notting Hill and Islington.

In 2015, my creative journey took another exciting turn when I co-created the Enchanted Wonders A-Z Yoga Cards with illustrator Dikla Calo-Henkin. These beautifully illustrated cards - designed to enhance creativity, self-expression, and imagination in children and families - became a bestseller and won multiple awards, including Best Product of the Year 2015 by Parents Magazine. They are now part of the Enchanted Wonders™ series, which includes e-books and an A-Z yoga poses poster for children.

Following the success of the Enchanted Wonders A-Z Yoga Cards, I was honored to share and co-lead, alongside Jyoti Manual and other teachers, the Children's Yoga & Mindfulness Teacher Training course at Special Yoga. This experience allowed me to support and guide new teachers in bringing yoga and mindfulness to children, reinforcing my passion for making yoga accessible, engaging, and enriching for young learners.

In 2020, I launched "Empowering Children Through Yoga & Creativity," an enhanced Kids Yoga Teacher Training designed to integrate creativity, emotional well-being, and mindfulness into children’s yoga. This natural evolution in my teaching practice allowed me to develop and lead workshops, teacher training, and day retreats, all rooted in the belief that yoga is a space for exploration, play, and self-discovery.

Teachers Who Have Shaped My Path

I have been blessed to study with some of the most world-renowned yoga teachers and thought leaders, each of whom has enriched my practice and teaching philosophy.

My journey began in Shirley Bentwitch’s studio in Tel Aviv, where I first experienced yoga during pregnancy. Inspired by her active birth approach, I later trained with Janet Balaskas in London in 2003, fulfilling a dream and deepening my passion for breath and movement in pregnancy yoga, allowing me to share this profound practice with many pregnant women.

Since 2007, I have studied nearly 400 hours with ParaYoga, immersing myself in the Tantric yoga of the Himalayan institute teachings that continue to inspire and guide me. The depth of this lineage has infused my practice with a profound understanding of yoga nidra, mediation, pranayama and yoga philosophy.

My ongoing studies have been profoundly shaped by:

  • Jo Jyoti Manual – Learning from her since 2003 and later co-teaching alongside her at Special Yoga.

  • Judith Hanson Lasater – Training in Restorative Yoga (Level I & II) since 2014, which has transformed how I incorporate ease, relaxation, and deep rest into all my offerings.

  • Doug Keller – His "Therapeutic Wisdom of Yoga" training and books have been foundational in shaping my therapeutic yoga approach since 2007.

  • Dr. Lisa Kaley Isley – Training in Yoga for Anxiety & Depression, deepening my understanding of how yoga philosophy integrates into therapeutic yoga to support mental health.

  • Dr. Kristin Neff & Chris Germer – Integrating self-compassion practices into my personal and teaching journey.

  • Donna Farhi, Shiva Rea, Richard Freeman, Mary Taylor, Robert Thurman, Tias Little, Aadil Palkhivala, and Charlotta Martinus – Each of these teachers has enriched my understanding of yoga’s depth, somatic movement intelligence, and creative expression.

  • Trauma Studies – Alongside my Yoga Therapy Diploma, I have trained in trauma-informed approaches with Janina Fisher, Bessel van der Kolk, and studied somatic movement with Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen.

Looking Forward: Yoga Therapy & Beyond

In October 2023, I collaborated with Michelle Fury on the upcoming book Yoga Therapy for Complex Trauma: Working with Child, Adolescents and Adults Clients, set to be published in August 2025 with Singing Dragon. This project reflects my accumulation of more than two decades of experience working with children in various settings, offering yoga and mindfulness practices to support their well-being and self-care, alongside their carers and educators.

Outside of sharing yoga, you can often find me dancing, swimming, gardening, or marvelling at the wonders of nature -activities that continue to inspire and nourish my soul.

Through all these experiences, my greatest teachers remain my husband, our three wonderful sons, and the countless children and adults I’ve had the privilege of sharing yoga with. They continue to inspire and enrich my journey, reminding me daily that yoga is a practice of connection, curiosity, and transformation.

I look forward to continuing to share these magical practices with students, families, and communities—wherever they are on their path.
